cozy studio

My writer's studio is cozy, despite the rainy weather. Here I write poems about summer in Maine for kids, revise, scan, revise. I have lake, ocean and camping series so far. I'm trying to come up with a poetry collection that includes traditional verse, whimsical free verse, haiku and concrete shape poems. I'm attending to rhythm, slant rhyme and internal rhyme. Here's the beginning of a poem called, "June."

Let’s throw off our sneakers and wiggle our toes
and sashay through greening June days.
Come wade in the brook and daub mud for a dam,
then pluck strawberries for jam ruby sweet.
